I added two darts in the back for the A-Line silhouette. This skirt wasn't too difficult to make. The positioning of the panels and the waistband was a little difficult to get just right, however. I wanted them to fall a certain way, so I had to play around with them a bit.

So........moving on, I suppose.
I went to Fabricland today and bought two fabrics. I only got two yards of each because I've been on a skirt-making rampage and they were kind of pricey anyway. I bought:
- cotton twill fabric in black - I'm thinking a scalloped edge is gonna be involved with this one. Perhaps another A-Line skirt?
- some kind of lycra satin fabric in SILVER! So excited about this one. It's nice and shiny and will totally make for an awesome and unique skirt. Maybe something with pleats?

For the black twill fabric: definitely scallops. I saw a bodycon skirt with a scalloped edge on NastyGal a while ago, but I don't like the whole aspect of it being a bodycon skirt. So I'm thinking of maybe making it more A-line and adding a slit in the back? We shall see!
nastygal.com - Definitely love the edge of this skirt, but not really diggin' the silhouette |
